train table

Bub stopped playing with his Thomas set a while ago because there was no space to just leave it set up and we hated stepping on the loose track in the dark when we tucked him in.

So I went to Lowes and bought a piece of plywood for $11 and had them cut it to fit on a trundle bed frame. Add about $20 in paint markers, E600 glue and craft paint from Wal Mart to gitter done and ...
HERE IT IS!

He can't help from playing even as I paint!

Those paint cans are supposed to be holding down the drying track!

99% finished. The black rectangle is a "parking lot" for his Matchbox cars

My first project of the New Year kills two birds with one stone. :)

Bub is back to playing with his toys and we are a bit more organized. The rest of his tracks are being donated to GW.

  4. My husband and did a simular project years ago. We painted a very generic lake and stream and everything else was green. Wd did not glue the track down as moving the track and creating different shape was his favorite activity.

I hope your son has as much fun with his train table at ours did.

Great job, I love the parking lot.

  7. Nifty train table. My girlies would die for one of those. Hey, I popped on over here to try to answer your question. You asked about my drawer pulls. I don't know who the manufacturer is, but I got them at Lowe's and my receipt refers to them as "Black Iron Pulls." I hope this helps. Good luck finding them! I love mine.
