how low can you go?

Apparently pretty low if you are in politics...

New Hampshire Dem Candidate Wishes Palin was Killed in Alaska Plane Crash

The following is a release from the New Hampshire GOP:

Dem NH House Candidate Wishes Gov. Palin Was On Sen. Stevens’ Fatal Plane Crash

CONCORD – The New Hampshire Republican State Committee today denounced Democrat NH House candidate Keith Halloran’s public death wish for former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. The Party also called on Governor John Lynch and Congressional Candidate Ann McLane Kuster to personally denounce his hateful remarks and call for him to apologize to the Palin family.

In a Facebook post yesterday regarding the tragic plane crash that killed former Alaska Senator Ted Stevens, Halloran wrote, “Just wish Sarah and Levy [sic] were on board.” Levi Johnston is the father of Governor Palin’s grandson (RedHampshire, 8/11).

“Mr. Halloran’s outrageous comments are a new low, even by the standards of the New Hampshire Democrat Party,” said NHGOP Communications Director Ryan Williams. “His publicly stated death wish for Governor Palin and her family is abhorrent, and has no place in our public discourse. Governor Lynch and Ann McLane Kuster need to immediately denounce Mr. Halloran’s hateful remarks and demand that he personally apologize to the Palin family.”

Mr. Halloran served on the Rindge, NH planning board. He is running as a Democrat for State Representative this year in Cheshire County House District 7. He describes himself as “an active local citizen and supporter of NH Governor John Lynch” (Jaffrey, Rindge, Dublin Democrats Committee website). Mr. Halloran is also a prominent supporter of Second Congressional District Candidate Ann McLane Kuster.

A little background on Keith Halloran from

Keith Halloran, an active local citizen and supporter of NH Governor John Lynch, presently serves on the Rindge Planning Board, the Rindge Ingalls Memorial Library Board of Trustees, and as Vice Chair of the Rindge Democrats.

In recent years, Keith was the founding Secretary of the Rindge Agriculture Committee and author of its Charter, founding Secretary and historical and pictorial archivist of the West Rindge Common Restoration Committee, a Board Member of NH Main Street TEAM JAFFREY, and volunteer fundraiser for the Jaffrey PARK THEATER.

Keith HALLORAN supports NH Governor John LYNCH in our shared respect for New Hampshire’s history & traditions, an emphasis on non-partisan and fiscally responsible approaches to governing New Hampshire today, and targeting priorities for building and safeguarding New Hampshire’s future.

birthday weekend

Saturday was my 34th birthday :)

To start celebrating on Friday the children and I went to a local garage sale, out to breakfast, drove to a near by town for some junkin', went wading in the river and another stop for junkin' on the way home. Peanut picked up some old Bobsey Twin books and a older copy of Heidi, Bub found his name spelled out in antique wooden blocks, and Princess scored a "princess horse" for her dolls to ride. Hmmm my birthday and they get gifts?? LOL
Then we cleaned the WHOLE house and tackled ALL the laundry so there were be nothing but resting and fun for the weekend. We made my favorite dinner of hearty mac casserole and my oldest baked me a cake. Hubby brought home movies and we spend the night relaxing.

Saturday morning we made a surprise trip to north western Oklahoma to see my family. We haven't been up there since last November. We got to visit with my cousins, their children, my aunt and my mom. Mom helped me sew up some pillows since my machine is dead and fixed a dress I ripped. I snagged a few cuttings of her garden plants that I hope will root. We wanted to sort through family heirlooms for me to bring home but ran out of time. I did get a couple of framed art prints, my 2nd great grandmother's salt and pepper shakers and my Granny's porcelain dove nightlight Mom gave her on her 50th birthday. Going to plan another trip up there this fall to sort through everything and take Mom's spare room from storage closet to a sewing/guest room...that should take a week or so!

On Sunday morning the whole gang packed up and headed to the creek for a few hours of playing in the sand and catching minnows. My way too citified children had a blast getting sand in places they didn't know existed ;)  By late afternoon everyone was tired and we needed to get on the road. We took a different route and shaved off an hour from the trip. BONUS! We stopped in Wichita Falls for dinner and arrived home just in time for bed...and for Hubby to get an emergency work call. :(

It was a good weekend. Now the fun of cleaning up the truck and unpacking. Not sure how we took so much stuff for a ONE NIGHT trip! *sigh*
