almost time!

January is just around the corner!
That means w2s going out and refund checks coming in!

We always submit our taxes the first day allowed and I think that is like Jan 15th or so.

This year's return will pay for my reversal!!!
Oh I can't wait to be whole again!

I am hoping it will even be enough to carpet the house and remodel the guest bathroom. That is pushing it but still can dream. :)

God's 2x4

As everyone knows I am married to a 'sparky' (electrician to the rest of us)

He has worked for the same company for over 5 yrs and has/had no desire to look for another job. He likes his work, he has a company truck and gas card, he is a supervisor and does awesome running his jobs and crew. His bosses are pleased with his work. :) He has moved up faster than anyone else in company history.

That said God has had other plans it seems.

A few months ago hubby was at the local supply house and while waiting on his order got to talking with another sparky sitting next to him. __we'll call him "K"__ Casual chit chat nothing more. Well, as time goes by hubby keeps running into this sparky everywhere he goes. The supply house, Home Depot, just out and about...there "K" is. They talk more and more.

A job offer is made for hubby to switch companies and come to work with the "K". Hubby declines. He is NOT looking for a new job.

Turns out "K" became a new friend. His family goes to our church. I knew his wife this whole time. Small world. :) Hubby starts to think about the job switch. We all start hanging out after church. "K"'s wife is super nice, they have 2 boys near our son's age, they live like 5 minutes down the road. Hmm, starting to feel God might be working....

This week hubby decided to stay where he has been working for 5 yrs. He was offered a good raise and a highly prized contract he has been wanting for yrs (this offer is totally out of the blue and raises are hard to come by in current company)...just too much to leave especially when the new company of "K" did not have the work to keep hubby paid...yet.

So this morning hubby was going to tell o"K" he would try to help him out part time but he could not accept the job offer. Hubby went to his Saturday morning meeting and planned to make the call when he was done. Instead the phone ringings as they are finishing up. He left the restaurant and returned the call. It was "K" and he needed hubby's help with a job.

Hubby is AWESOME at control work and "K" has not done much of it so he needed him out at the local asphalt plant. They got there, did the walk around with hubby telling the owner of the plant what was wrong and what was needed and yeah they could get them running again but the plant needs major control work. A complete over haul.

The asphalt plant owner turns (God's 2x4) and says "We need a full time electrical company to work our 4 plants. We need someone that will be ready 24/7. We'll pay" YES!

Hubby came home and said "God hit me with a 2x4 today. I have not been listening to Him...you won't believe what just happened..." He tells me the whole story as he is getting dressed to go out and fix the asphalt plant with o"K".

Time to sit and talk and LISTEN to God tonight :) really listen and see what HIS plans are and not what feels 'comfy' and 'normal'

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!

11 years ago today I married the love of my life!
We have been through so much that most people never thought we would make it this far. It is only by God's GRACE that we are here. Stronger than ever. Finally building the foundation on The Rock that will last a lifetime.

Mr T, I love you forever and then some.
