it sure is quiet

For the last few weeks things have been so hectic that it is weird to have 'quiet' again.

We moved my mom up to the panhandle of Oklahoma. We are originally from the area and most of my side of the family is still there. It was a 'surprise' move and took us just about 36 hours...round trip. WHEW! She is settling in and unpacking. I think this will be a happy time in her life and prayfully a less stressful one as well! We are hoping to make a trip up there for Thanksgiving provided Hubby gets his job to a stopping point by then. We are praying he does as this will be the first "H" family holiday since my grandparents died 20 yrs ago.

We got home just in time for Hubby's new job project to start. We see very little of him lately with day job, sometimes night job of substitute teachings at the local electrical school, and the things we are committed to with church. We are so grateful that he has work as he told me over 500 electricians in our area were laid off this year. I hate complaining of missing him when I hear things like that. Like right now I am sitting here waiting on him to come home after a trip out of town for his day job. Tomorrow will be a rare "have Daddy home all day" day! He should be here any second so I am trying to hurry and post. :)

We have had some ups and downs lately and God has shown us He provides! And THAT is an awesome feeling!! It will still be rough for a couple weeks but we will get through this with Him on our side.

I ask for prayers for my little boy. He was born with Hydronephrosis and is suffering his first UTI. UTIs are rare in little boys and not good for people with his condition. He also has protein and blood in his urine which could be from the infection or it could be a sign of something worse. We are waiting to get into a new pediatric urologist as his old one is no longer practicing. I hate waiting. The one good thing is he was given bubble gum flavored penicillin and he LOVES it! He dances around like a little bird with his mouth open when it is med time and he is sure to suck every last drop out. He even begs for more the little goose!!

So for now in our home it is quiet as we wait for DRs, holidays, and Hubby to be home.

I am learning to be still and rest in God. Something I am so not good at. Hmm, maybe I am supposed to be learning something....

They Never Told Us That Our Birth Control May be Killing Our Pre-Born Children

Learn what doctors & government agencies have known for years about birth control but don’t disclose to women. edited by Darlene Folk
Director, Ashtabula Friends for Life

When Does Life Begin?

Life begins at fertilization (conception), that moment when a sperm joins with an ovum (egg) to form one cell called a zygote. The characteristics of this new person, such as sex, eye and hair color, intelligence, etc. are determined as he or she inherits 23 chromosomes from each parent at fertilization. This tiny child then travels down the Fallopian tube into the uterus. The new human implants herself in the rich lining of the uterus and begins to draw nourishment. This process takes approximately 5 to 10 days to complete. During this journey the miniscule child is often mistakenly referred to as a "fertilized egg", even by well-meaning pro-lifers. We must understand, however, that once the egg is fertilized it is no longer an egg, but a human being.
"Reproductive rights" advocates try to confuse the issue by redefining the fact of when life begins. They often propose that a pregnancy does not begin until implantation, not fertilization, and therefore they argue that many birth control methods we call abortifacient aren’t since they act before implantation, before life, they say, exists. But according to medical texts and agreed upon by medical professionals, "life begins at fertilization."

Contraceptives vs. Abortifacients

A distinction exists between contraceptive birth control and abortifacient birth control.
Contraception, n.
prevention of conception.
-- Webster's Dictionary
Contraceptives include the so-called barrier methods: the condom, diaphragm, cervical cap, and anti-sperm methods such as the sponge, jellies, foams and creams. These methods prevent sperm from fertilizing an egg. Abortifacients work after fertilization (conception) by killing the newly conceived human. These include oral contraceptives (the "Pill"), IUD, Norplant, Depo-Provera, Emergency Contraception (the "Morning-After Pill"), and anti-fertility vaccines. The U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare defined abortion as follows:
"All the measures which impair the viability of the zygote at any time between the instant of fertilization and the completing of labor constitute, in the strict sense, procedures for inducing abortion."1
(emphasis added)
Although 1.6 million surgical abortions take place each year in the U.S., Dr. Bogomir Kuhar, a pharmacist concerned about chemical abortion, has calculated that in combining all forms of induced abortion -- the IUD, Depo-Provera, Norplant, surgical, and the Pill (and injectables, implants, and oral products that work in a similar fashion), between 9.6 and 13.4 million young lives are terminated in the U.S. alone each year.2 Pro-abortion organizations readily admit the early abortion potential of these methods. In February 1992, writing in opposition to a Louisiana law banning abortion, Ruth Colker, a Tulane Law School professor, wrote,
"Because nearly all birth control devices, except the diaphragm and condom, operate between the time of conception ... and implantation ..., the statute would appear to ban most contraceptives (sic)."3

The "Pill"

The Pill is taken orally, usually every day. There are two kinds of Pills. The "combined Pill" contains both estrogen and progestin. The second type is a progestin-only Pill sometimes called the "mini-pill". Both kinds have three ways of working:
  1. they prevent ovulation by suppressing the part of the brain which signals for ovulation to begin,
  2. they change the lining of the cervix to make it more difficult for sperm to pass through, or
  3. they prevent implantation of a newly conceived human life on the lining of the womb.4
Two other factors in a woman’s fertility may be affected by the Pill as well by:
  1. lowering the efficiency with which the Fallopian tubes propel eggs or a newly conceived human (embryo) from the ovaries toward the uterus. This can cause the embryo not to reach the uterus in time to implant successfully.5
  2. affecting the corpus luteum (a gland that controls the woman’s cycle and normally functions long enough to give an embryo time to implant and for the placenta to begin to support a pregnancy), causing it to allow the lining of the uterus to be shed before the embryo can successfully implant.6
The first two actions are contraceptive in nature; the last three cause abortions. Dr. J. Richard Crout, director of the Bureau of Drugs of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), concerning the "combination pills" has explained that,
"fundamentally, these pills take over the menstrual cyle from the normal endocrine mechanisms. And in so doing they inhibit ovulation and change the characteristics of the uterus so that it is not receptive to a fertilized egg (sic)".7
The action of the progestin-only Pill ("mini-pill") appears to be even more consistently abortifacient. When Syntex Laboratories, Inc. released the progestin-only Pill which it had developed, spokesman Russ Wilks announced that it did not
"interfere with ovulation ... It seems to affect the endometrium (the lining of the uterus) so that a fertilized egg (sic) cannot be implanted".8
The FDA’s detailed patient labeling for oral contraceptives (sic) says,
"progestin-only contraceptives (sic) are known to alter the cervical mucus, exert a progestinal (sic) effect on the endometrium, interfering with implantation, and, in some patients, suppress ovulation."9
Very conservative estimates state that the Pill kills pre-born children between 2 and 10% of the time.10 However, many medications and other external factors increase the abortion-causing nature of the Pill.11 Also, since 1988, the amount of the contraceptive component of the Pill was lowered, which allows the abortion-causing component to come into play more often. It is estimated that some forms of the Pill of today cause abortions up to 50% of the time.12 Emory University’s Contraceptive Technology published that the "mini-pills" allow ovulation to take place 40 to 60% of the time.

IUD

The IUD (intra-uterine device), is an object that is placed inside the uterus (womb) by a physician. When in place, it and the chemical it contains alters the fluids in the womb and the lining of the womb. The presence of the IUD irritates the lining, causing any newly conceived child to be unable to implant. The baby dies and passes out of the mother’s body unnoticed. According to the American Medical Association (AMA) Committee on Human Reproduction,
"the action of the ZUDs would seem to lie a simple local phenomenon. That these devices prevent nidation (implantation) of an already fertilized ovum (sic) has been accepted as the most likely mechanism of the action."13
In an exhaustive survey of over 400 articles on the subject, Dr. Thomas W. Hilgers concluded,
"... the condusion is that the primary action of the IUD must be classed as abortifacient." 14

Depo-Provera

Depo-Provera is a long-acting, man-made hormone in an injection received every three months. It has been available in some parts of the world for 20 years or more and has been used by doctors specifically to abort children. That is why Depo-Provera was not approved in the U.S. until recently. It has the usual progestin mechanisms of action (as the Pill): suppressing ovulation in some cases; altering the mucus in the cervix; or altering the endometrium, the lining of the uterus.15 Depo-Provera may cause abortions 40 to 60% of the time.16

Norplant

Norplant is also a progesterone drug which is becoming increasingly popular despite its significant risks and difficulty of removal. (As of August 1996, in Texas alone, over 68 federal lawsuits against its manufacturer, Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories, have been consolidated.) The drug is encased in 5 or 6 flexible capsules or rods, which are surgically implanted beneath the skin on the inside of the upper arm, and is designed to be effective for up to five years. Pregnancy is avoided through suppressed ovulation or aborted due to failed implantation of the baby. Studies show that it may cause abortions 50 to 65% of the time.17

Emergency Contraception (Morning-After Pill)

Emergency Contraception is one brand of the Pill. Preven is the only type approved by the FDA as of Spring, 1999. It is manufactured in higher dosages (up to eight times the normal dose), and packaged and marketed specifically for after-intercourse use. Preven is designed to be taken up to 72 hours after sexual intercourse and still be effective. Like all oral products, Preven can and does prevent implantation of an embryo and is therefore abortifacient.

Anti-Fertility Vaccines

Since the early 1970’s the World Health Organization has been funding research on a vaccine that would make a woman’s immune system attack and destroy her own babies in the womb. Two such vaccines being researched are the anti-hCG and the Trophoblastic Antigen (TBA) vaccines.

The Church Against The Rapture

Our Associate Pastor has begun speaking this week of being truly ready for Christ's return. He has been preaching from Mark about being 'in the boat with front row seats' yet the hand chosen followers were still blind and deaf to the true nature of Jesus and His message. I hope this article someone on Facebook pointed me to will help you to see, hear and understand that He IS coming and SOON!

So what are we doing that is Kingdom valued?!

 The Church Against The Rapture

Opinion by Jack Kelley
When the Christian community gets united behind something we’re a force to be reckoned with. The 2004 Presidential election was a good example. Many of those 35 million extra votes George Bush got were from Evangelical Christians. Sadly, things like that don’t happen very often anymore. Even 9/11 didn’t produce any long term change toward unifying the Body. But try to imagine this if you can.  Imagine how different this country would be today if all Christians held a Christian world view, were convinced that the Lord was coming back for us very soon, and were living their lives accordingly. Can you even begin to see the difference we’d be making? It would be amazing. America would be compared to the Israel of Solomon’s day.
To prevent the tremendous effect we would have for good, the enemy has implemented a divide and conquer strategy. He knows that as long as he can keep the Body of Christ fractured he can keep us weak. Over the years, he’s mounted a number of campaigns to implement this strategy. Gifts vs. no gifts, the inerrancy issue, and the proper method of interpretation come to mind. But one of his most successful efforts has been to take advantage of the fact that for His own reasons, God has chosen to keep the Rapture’s timing a secret.
The clues He’s given us point to our departure happening prior to the beginning of Daniel’s 70th Week. But right from the beginning Satan influenced Church leaders to conclude that denying the pre-trib pre millennial view would keep us focused on the things of this world instead of always looking up, waiting for the Lord. So even though Paul very clearly taught a pre-trib rapture of the Church, and John revealed a 1000 year Kingdom to follow it, alternate views have sprung up almost continuously since then.

Take Your Pick

Amillennialism came along in the early 400’s to teach believers not to expect any literal Kingdom, ever.  It told believers that the 2nd Coming took place when Jesus came into their hearts, that the Church Age is the Millennium and that end times prophecy is not meant to be taken literally. This removed a major obstacle to having Christianity recognized by Rome.
Post millenialism taught that the 2nd Coming would take place after the 1000 year millennium which is really a golden age of Christian prosperity and dominance in the world. The prosperity gospel and Dominion theology are offshoots of post-millennialism.
The Post Tribulation Rapture view denied the doctrine of imminence by placing the Rapture after the Tribulation. Look for the anti-Christ, it says, not the Christ. Mid-Trib (aka Pre-Wrath) is a compromise between the pre and post trib views that denies imminence as well. Replacement Theology was to deny that the re-birth of Israel is an end times sign. Preterism denies all future prophetic events. Kingdom Now, or Dominionism, contends that the Lord can’t come back until we’ve done our part by converting the world. As a result of Dominionism millions of believers have been looking all their lives for a great revival that’s never coming, instead of looking for the Lord, who is.
The combined effect of all this is that most believers have been lulled to sleep with no clue as to how close we are to the End of the Age. While prophecies that Christians have been anticipating for nearly 2000 years are being fulfilled right before their eyes, they’re more concerned about the long term mortgages on their homes and the interest free financing on their cars. Having sufficient retirement income far outweighs stockpiling treasure in heaven on their list of priorities. Their endless quest for bigger and better toys distracts them from the boredom of lives that have been rendered meaningless, without purpose. False teaching about the End Times has left them ignorant of the closeness of the Lord’s return and complacent about their faith. It has stolen their joy, quenched their spirit, and made them no better off spiritually than the unbelievers who surround us. They sometimes get fired up on Sunday, but by mid-week you’d never know it happened.
Here’s what that means. According to recent surveys in the USA, less than 10% of born-again believers have a Christian world view. That means over 90% of us have been seduced into a pursuit of the same materialistic goals as our unbelieving neighbors. Over 40% have never given the first dime to the Lord’s work. Even more have never shared the Gospel with anyone. Some studies show that the abortion rate among Christians is the same as for unbelievers, as is the divorce rate, and two out of three of our children will stop going to church the minute they have a choice.
I lay most of the blame for this at the feet of so-called theologians who’ve let themselves be influenced by Satan while charged with the responsibility of teaching the Word of God. Remember, Paul’s words to the Corinthians:
For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. (2 Cor. 11:13-15)
Knowingly or not, these people have bought into Satan’s lies and have taught those entrusted to them that God’s word isn’t true.
