dying hair and covering sin

I dyed my hair a few weeks back because I was tired of the brassy color it was becoming and to hide a few silver hairs that were sneaking in. I opted for my 'natural' dark brown color and have been enjoying the new 'younger and darker' look. That is til a few nights ago. I was finger combing out my curls after a shower and noticed something in my hair. Peering closer I could see about an inch of silver peeking out not 1 but many places.

Seems in trying to hide the silver I made more obvious by placing the darker background color around them.

It is the same way with sin. We see it hiding there not quite in your face bold but there. So we slather on a happy church face and we think it is gone. After all now no one sees it cause we are 'happy churchy people'. It may work for a while but just like my roots sin comes back up and shows its' ugly head.

Unlike my roots growing out the only way to deal with sin is to pluck it out by the root with the help of Jesus. Covering it over won't do, changing ways ain't stopping it, running away won't fix it. You must go to the Lord, repent and be filled with a new fruit.
